How Wet Granulation Works
Powder Mixing & Binder Addition
Dry ingredients are blended before the binder solution is introduced at a controlled rate. Mixing speed, fill ratio, binder concentration, addition method, and wet-massing endpoint all influence granule consistency.
Process focus: uniform binder distribution, repeatable wet mass, and reduced manual handling.
Wet Granule Formation & Sizing
The wet mass is cut, screened, or extruded into granules. Impeller and chopper speed, screen or mesh specification, material moisture, and residence time determine particle size, density, and shape.
Drying & Final Conditioning
Wet granules are transferred to fluid-bed or other drying equipment, then milled and sieved if required. Drying temperature, airflow, time, final moisture, and downstream tablet, capsule, or packing requirements must be considered together.
